01

Cristina's Breakfast

The reason the beach can wait.

Cristina makes everything from scratch every morning. No boxes, no frozen food, no "hotel breakfast". The savoury flans change, the quiches rotate, the tarts follow the seasons.

There are guests who come back every year. Some claim it's for the beach. Then they ask whether Cristina still makes the strudel. Coincidence.

🥐 Pistachio, apricot and chocolate croissants 🥞 Versilian-style pancakes 🍰 Artisan tarts in Adele's style 🍎 Apple strudel and apple cake 🥗 Courgette, lemon and basil quiche 🫒 Cauliflower, taggiasca olives, anchovies and turmeric 🥚 Stuffed eggs, tuna, anchovies, mustard and capers

+ Cristina's daily savoury flans. Change every morning.

The Private Garden

Large private pine forest park. 350m from the sea.

A private garden in Versilia is not common. Palms, centuries-old maritime pines, seasonal blooms — and two cats who consider it their exclusive property. Two steps from Lago di Porta, a protected nature reserve.

Macchia patrols the perimeter every morning from 7:00 to 11:00. Pepe supervises from below, with little enthusiasm and much appetite.

Bathrooms without shower box or without bidet Some room types have a floor shower, others have no bidet. We say it on every room page, in every badge, and right here. No surprises — it's an informed choice.
  • 🏗️
Exterior facade needs work We'll renovate it as soon as we figure out how the world is going. For now the interior more than makes up for it — and if things go south, we'd hate to redo it twice.
  • 🛏️
No traditional bedside table In rooms with a bridge wardrobe the shelf runs over the headboard and acts as a nightstand. In the Modern rooms there's a minimal open shelf in white steel. Different solutions — not nothing.
  • 🚶
No lift We have 2 floors and 22 rooms. There's no lift. We say it everywhere. It's not a surprise.
  • 😴
Pillows too flat European style. If you want higher ones, just ask — we have spares.

Fantastic breakfast Cristina makes it every morning as if it's her last. Local produce, everything made on the spot — cakes, strudel, tarts, savoury. Not your usual hotel breakfast.
  • 📍
Location 3km from Forte dei Marmi, 350m from the WWF beach, Apuan Alps in view. Hard to do better in Versilia at this price.
  • 😊
Friendly and communicative staff We answer — not a call centre. We know the cats' names and, if you want, yours too.
  • Cleanliness Average cleanliness score 9.1. Not a coincidence: small team, done properly.
  • 🌳
Big trees, cool courtyard The 1,000 sqm garden has plane trees at least 40 years old. In summer the shade alone is worth the stay.

// FAQ

The questions everyone asks.
The answers nobody gives.

How far is the Forte dei Marmi Market from the hotel?

The Forte dei Marmi Market is in Piazza Marconi, about 3km from the hotel — 10 minutes by car, 15 by bike along the cycle path. It's held every Wednesday from 8:00 to 13:30, plus every Sunday from Easter to end of October. Considered the most beautiful market in Italy: fashion, leather goods, crafts, local produce.

Is the free WWF beach really 350m away?

Yes, exactly 350m on foot from the hotel. The WWF Le Dune free beach is a protected nature reserve: no beach clubs, no sun lounger hire, no chaos. Just sand, dunes and open sea. Free, always.

Do you really save money booking directly?

Yes. OTAs (Booking.com, Expedia and similar) keep between 15% and 20% commission on each booking. We pass part of that saving on to our guests as a guaranteed 12% discount. Same room, same service — different price. It's not a trick: it's maths.

Is the hotel pet friendly?

We accept small pets (up to approximately 10kg). The large private pine forest garden is their favourite spot — although Macchia and Pepe may disagree. Always let us know about pets at the time of booking.

Is there a cycle path near the hotel?

Yes, the seafront cycle path is accessible directly from the hotel and stretches over 21km along the Versilian coast. It lets you reach Forte dei Marmi, Pietrasanta and Marina di Massa safely. We also have 10 cycling routes — from flat coastal rides to the Apuan Alps — with free GPS tracks available on request.

Where do you park?

The hotel's private car park is free, available for all guests. While in Forte dei Marmi in summer parking can cost €3–5/hour, here it's included. There is also an electric car charging point next to the property.
